Tim Keller

This morning I told Taylor that I am going to see Tim Keller on March 22nd and her response was great.  "Really?  I can't believe you're gonig to see Tim Keller and I'm NOT going to see Taylor Swift." I love that thinks they are equally famous!  In our house, he's definitely a rock star.

We listen to his podcasts over and over and try, usually unsuccessfully, to share his incredibly brilliant insights as much as possible.  We heard he was coming to Hong Kong, but today we were invited to join this group for a luncheon where he will speak.  I am pumped.

TIM KELLER
How the Gospel Shapes Your Work

CITY TO CITY

From New York to Hong Kong and to Asia
While we all know Tim Keller as an author, senior pastor, preacher, he is also the Founder
and Chairman of the Board for Redeemer City to City. Over the past few years, a small
group of business leaders and church leaders from Hong Kong and around Asia have been
quietly but faithfully responding to the biblical vision for our cities, joining together to
establish the Asia arm of the City to City urban mission. Tim comes and officiates the launch
of City to City Asia Pacific for us. We want to give thanks to the forerunners of our leaders
in Asia, as well as presenting God’s call to more upcoming urban leaders to engage with us.
Your will hear God’s stories unfolding dynamically in Hong Kong, China, Tokyo & ....
how we in Hong Kong are serving others as a hub city with the love and truth of Christ.

DATE 22 MARCH 2014 Saturday

Learning thru experience - Interim weeks

Interim weeks for each of the children are very different because of their ages, but the experiences are great for all of them.

Forrest, being in high school, gets the big-daddy trip scuba-diving in Malaysia, and he left today for one full week (the entire student body of the high school is going somewhere on this side of the world this week) and it's not even spring break.

Ellis, being in middle-school, has a week on one of the HK islands, and his week is called a Week in the Wild, which is full of climbing and boating, and on and on - Ellis leaves in April.

The girls, being in lower and upper primary had an arts interim during school last week, which was a time to break away from school and have an "arts" experience.

Taylor spent five days learning to sew.  The school hired an American lady who owns The Sewing Lounge her in HK, and she taught the kids so very much. She came home the first day with a reversible apron, on the second day with a padded computer case and on the third day with a pair of pj pants for me! The last day she made a bag (not in the picture). Yep, she's wearing those pants in the picture (they didn't quite fit past my knees).

Claire, chose the singing "arts interim." I've attached two or three short videos of her new favorite songs from Frozen.  The whole world seems to be singing these songs!
